Executive Summary:

I see a lot of confusion on the net on how to make your
LOCK screen DIFFERENT then your WALLPAPER screen
on a JailBroken iPod or iPhone.

OS-X rOOcks ! OS-X rOOcks ! OS-X rOOcks ! OS-X rOOcks !

But first, you install "WinterBoard" a theme MANAGER via ICY, Cydia or Rock. OS-X rOOcks !

  • Some Theme's are good, and some are very bad, and some can hose your device.
    - I know you will be tempted to install more, but for now, please ONLY install WinterBoard Theme's.

Now ssh to your iPod and do:

    ls -asl "/Library/Themes/User Wallpaper.theme"
    ls -asl "/Library/Themes/User Lock Background.theme"

Notice that BOTH point to the SAME silly image, /var/mobile/Library/LockBackground.jpg !!!

All you have to do is goto BOTH directories and change the SOFTLINK
to whatever .jpg image you want for your LOCK-paper and WALL-paper

    NOTES:

For more detailed information on how to do it, see my detailed page.
