• Supported barcode formats are:
  - 2D barcodes: Quick Code (QuickMark), QR Code, Data Matrix.
  - 1D barcodes: EAN 8/13 (Goods, Books), Code 39 (Bills), Code 128 (Packages).
  - Will ALSO read a UPC-A barcode !!!!!
  - I just wish it could decode a PDF417 (airline ticket etc) barcode !!!
  
  - All the other "FREE" scanners in the APP store, are junk...

• QuickMark or Quick Response or just plain old QR info:
  
  - Common in Japan.
  - The use of the QR Code is free of any license.

  QR capacity:
  Numeric only 		Max. 7,089 characters
  Alphanumeric 		Max. 4,296 characters
  Binary (8 bits) 	Max. 2,953 bytes
  Kanji/Kana 		Max. 1,817 characters
  

• www.morovia.com has a very nice PDF417 Online Barcode Generator.
• The Data Matrix (or Quick Code) barcode can encode up to 3,116 ASCII characters.
• The UPC-A barcode MUST be 11 or 12 numerals, no letters and no other characters.
  (why does the US always use the crappy version of stuff...)
