Gary Francis Sullivan, 55, passed away July 16, 2010 at Straub
Hospital in Honolulu, HI. Formerly of Redwood City, CA, he was born
December 7, 1954 in Forest Hills, NY.
Gary was the son of Vincent and the late Francine Sullivan. He was a
graduate of John Glenn H.S. and State University of New York at Oswego
with a degree in Technology Education. His lifelong specialty - where
his greatest gifts shone - was as a computer scientist. Gary was
amazing with his computer knowledge and had a true gift for making
things work. He worked with Digiac, Matra, U.S. Geological Survey,
National Aeronautical and Space Administration, and as a consultant to
many organizations as an expert in networking and computer security.
Gary loved to travel on the roads of the USA before he moved to
Hawaii, whether in a car, on a motorcycle, or with friends and family
in his motor home. He was very proud of his RV and was always excited
to show others all his latest and cool gadgets.
Gary was lighthearted, joyful, and fun to be with. He was caring,
loving, comforting, generous, kind, gentle, encouraging, and much much
more. Gary took special interest in others and was always willing to
help, with a smile. He found great pleasure in simple things and had a
passion for learning and broadening his knowledge in life, science,
technology, and many other subject matter.
Gary is survived by his beloved Connie Hoong of Honolulu, HI; father
Vincent Sullivan of Middlebury, CT and Lake Como, PA; brother Don
Sullivan and his wife Patti of Felton, CA; sister Janine Sullivan-Wiley
and her husband Kent of Middlebury, CT; brother Bill Sullivan and his
fiancée Debbie of Spring Hill, FL; and many cousins, nieces, nephews,
and friends in HI, CA, FL, NY, NV, CT, England, France, and Denmark.
Our beloved Gary will be missed by all
